Adventure filled weekend

For years now we have been hearing about Onawa from Lauren's friend R. It is a family cottage that they own way up in the middle of Maine. We finally had a chance to get up there and it was great. Well, to be honest some parts of it weren't so great but we had a great time despite the 'issues'.

It was an adventure to say the least. We went to unpack the food and discovered that the fridge had been accidentally unplugged 3 weeks before by a family member forgetting that there was food in there when they left. Poor L spent the majority of her weekend cleaning it out. Thankfully there was another fridge that we could use. A hose on the washer machine let go flooding the cottage. It took 30+ beach towels to clean it up. It was a delayed black fly season this year and they were even able to fit through the window screens. We all went home covered in bug bites. They seemed to favor Zack. The weather wasn't great and it was rainy and foggy the entire time. At times, we couldn't even see the mountain across the lake.

Believe it or not we still managed to have a good time.

It was a great cottage in an amazing location. It was fantastic to just relax and not worry about anything. I didn't even have to worry about food or cook, L took care of everything. The company was nice and as usual the kids had a fantastic time with their friends.

I love this shot of the Dad's with the umbrellas in the rain. The girls didn't care!

Before C was even born, the girls decided that these little boys would someday be best friends just like they are.
