Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to anyone who may be reading this! Speaking of which, does anyone actually read this? If so, I would love to hear from you! Please leave me a comment and say hi.

We are still here in Northern Virginia. Today we drove the kids by our old apartment as well as the house that we used to rent. It brought back so many wonderful memories. It seems like a lifetime ago that we lived down here. As much as we miss our nieces and nephew, family and friends that live down here neither Rich or I can possibly imagine living down here again. It seems like a different world.

It was great to catch up with our family and friends down here. The kids had a blast with their cousins and Rich and I really enjoyed just spending time with his sister and her husband. We are already planning our summer trip so that the kids can swim in the pool.

We also really enjoyed catching up with my college friend Nancy and her boys. Despite a power outage that left the kids playing in the dark and a wind storm that nearly blew the baby boys away it was a great visit. I really hope that we get to spend more time together soon.

We also had a visit from Rich's former co-worker and good friend Kenny. They played pool late into the night telling old stories and they laughed most of the visit. I really hope that Kenny and his family are finally able to come up and visit us this summer.
We let the girls stay up until midnight for the first time ever. They had more energy than we did. The kids spent the night playing Wii, DS, drinking sparkling grape juice and playing board games. The adults enjoyed a few games of pool, lots of food and great company.
Lauren right before midnight
The kids (minus Zack who was already asleep)
Zack woke up just after midnight for a quick cuddle with Daddy. He didn't want to miss the party.
