Ice Storm Day 10

On Wednesday 40% of my town was still in the dark. As of Thursday they brought that number down to 25%. They are estimating that the rest of the people in the dark won't have power until after Christmas though.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, half of my street/neighborhood is still dark. The power came back on the main road and then down my street as far as my house. The family to my left and down the rest of the street and all around the block is still in the dark (going on day 9). One of the neighbors in the dark called PSNH (our power co.) to get the latest estimate.

Do you know what they said?

"We had no idea that you didn't have power. ( !!!!!) We restored power in your neighborhood last Sunday (5 days before) and we then we left that area because we thought that everyone had power. Nobody called us to let us know. We will add you to the list of outages and we will get to you when we can." The TV and radio had been asking people to stop calling PSNH saying that they were aware that everyone was in the dark and that they were working on it so nobody in my neighborhood thought to call when only have of the area came back up.
