The girls were so excited to go back to school. At the end of August we went and met their teachers. It is still so hard to believe that I have a first grader and a kindergartener.

We spent the last day of summer vacation at a local park/splash park and picnicked with several friends. We had a lot of fun and it was a great way to end summer vacation especially since we celebrated the last day of school there at the beginning of the summer. It was chilly (notice the kids are all wearing long pants) but they insisted in going in the sprinkler park anyway.
First Day of School!
Zack insisted on wearing his new backpack too.
Greeting some of the neighbors at the bus stop.
After the kids got on the bus I jumped in the car and drove to the school. LOL I was there to take pictures of Kathryn and her friends getting off the bus and going into the school.
Kathryn and her teacher
By the time Lauren got off the bus that afternoon she had had enough of my picture taking. LOL
Zack enjoyed the quiet by hanging out with his buddy Shadow.
A week or so after school started Zack and I went apple picking one morning. We had a lot of fun. I love having one on one time with my little guy.
The end of the month wrapped up Zack’s birthday month. We had a fall themed party at our house. unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate but we were able to do most of the outside activities that I had planned.
Each kid decorated their own pumpkin
They decorated sugar cookies too.
We went to the bakery to order his fall themed cake when we saw this one. It didn’t go with the rest of the theme but I knew that I had to get it for this little boy who wants to do nothing but play with trucks and cars.
The rain stopped long enough for us to have a donut eating contest at the end of the party.
The kids loved hunting for candy in a huge haystack.
I can’t believe that my little guy is 2. He is such an amazing addition to our family. I cannot imagine life without him.
